Once your data is connected and your semantic layer is defined, you can put the agent to work. This guide walks you through setting up an automated report that runs on a schedule and delivers results to your team.

What you’ll do

  1. Create a report from a conversation
  2. Configure a schedule
  3. Set up delivery

Step 1: Create a report

Start by asking the agent the question you want to automate. Get the answer looking exactly how you want it — this becomes your report template.
  1. Open the Wayak chat
  2. Ask your question, e.g. “Show me weekly revenue by region for the last 4 weeks, with week-over-week change”
  3. Refine until the output is what you’d want delivered to your team
  4. Click Save as report
  5. Give it a name (e.g. “Weekly Revenue by Region”)
The agent saves both the question and the output format, so it reproduces the same report structure every time it runs.

Step 2: Set a schedule

  1. Go to Reports in the Wayak dashboard
  2. Find your saved report and click Schedule
  3. Choose the frequency:
    • Daily — runs every day at a set time
    • Weekly — runs on a specific day and time
    • Monthly — runs on a specific date
  4. Set the time and timezone
  5. Click Save schedule
The agent runs the report at the scheduled time using live data, so results are always current.

Step 3: Set up delivery

Configure where the report gets sent when it runs.
  1. On the report schedule page, click Add delivery
  2. Choose a delivery channel:
    • Email — send to specific recipients or a distribution list
    • Slack — post to a channel
    • Webhook — send to any endpoint
  3. Configure the recipients or destination
  4. Click Save
You can add multiple delivery channels to the same report. Send it to Slack for the team and email for leadership.

Step 4: Verify

Wait for the first scheduled run, or click Run now to test immediately. Check that:
  • The data is correct and current
  • The format matches what you saved
  • Delivery arrives at the configured destination
